‘You Can’t Do That’: Matt Walsh Slams Leftist Media For Trying To Ignore Colorado Shooter Identifying As Non-Binary

Published

on

Matt Walsh slammed left-wing media coverage of the Colorado shooting for ignoring the mass shooter’s alleged non-binary identity.

Appearing on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Wednesday, Walsh slammed the left-wing media for ignoring or trying to downplay the fact that the alleged shooter identifies as non-binary. Because the left-wing media has put so much stock into transgender identity, they cannot ignore the shooter identifying as trans, by their own rules, and must be held to account.

“Well, I mean, we’re all owed apologies, but — I’ve seen these people enough to know that I’m not going to sit around and hold my breath waiting for the apology,” Walsh told Carlson. “I think it’s just really kind of amazing to watch, especially … CNN, where they immediately just deny this person’s self-identity. And I think the point that we want to get across is if you’re on the Left, okay, you can’t do that. That is not available to you. You’re not allowed to do that, by your own precedent, by your own philosophy, by the rules that you have set, and we’re gonna hold you to them.”

“Now you and I, Tucker, we’re allowed to say that this mass shooter who calls himself ‘non-binary,’ we’re allowed to say, ‘that’s nonsense. Non-binary isn’t even a thing, you can’t even be that,’” Walsh continued. “But on the Left, they’ve made it clear that the only evidence that needs to be provided in order to prove that someone is non-binary is they say it. And what they’ve also told us repeatedly is that the idea that somebody would adopt one of these identities in a self-serving way, like for example, a convicted male felon who’s in prison who all of a sudden discovers his inner female identity. To speculate that maybe he’s doing that so that he could have access to female inmates in women’s prisons, we’re told that, ‘no, you can’t speculate, that’s an awful thing to suggest.’”

“So that’s them [the Left] saying that, which means they’re stuck with this. As far as they’re concerned, this person is nonbinary. Now, what is he actually? I don’t know, I think it’s pretty clear he’s just a crazy guy. That’s what actually happened,” Walsh said.

“What we need to realize with the left-wing media is that when there’s a mass shooting, if we don’t know everything about the person’s life and we haven’t seen all of their social media posts within the first two hours after the shooting, it almost always means that this is not a right-winger,” Walsh went on. “Like, if it’s a right-winger who committed the attack, we’re gonna know everything about them immediately. But it was very suspicious and conspicuous that up until two, three days pass, and we knew almost nothing about this guy. All we had was speculation from the media, and then this shoe drops telling us that ‘oh, actually, he identifies as nonbinary.’ So, that’s not a coincidence. They gave themselves time to get their preferred narrative out before the truth got out.”

“The left is determined to politicize these things immediately and use them as political ammunition,” he added. “What it means is that we can’t have any actual, needed conversations about why this stuff happens. As you point out, pharmaceuticals. Also, one of the few details we know about this guy is that he comes from a broken home, his mother has warrants out for her arrest, his father is estranged, he’s like a porn star drug smuggler. I mean he comes from this tumultuous broken home, which, of course, doesn’t begin to excuse it, but it does indicate that when kids are raised in that kind of environment, it makes it much more likely that they’re gonna lash out violently.”

“That’s a conversation we should really be having about the effects of broken homes and the disintegration of the nuclear family, and how that contributes to violence,” Walsh continued. “But we can’t talk about that, because as soon as the Left realizes that they can’t use it for their political advantage, we don’t talk about it anymore and it goes away. And that’s why this story is going away as far as media is concerned.”

Antibiotics could have saved my child, says father of seven-year-old victim

Published

on

Data show iGAS rates have soared to a level more than four times higher than they were before the Covid pandemic, with more child deaths already this winter than in a normal year.

Strep A infection is common and mostly leads to tonsillitis or strep throat and is easily treatable with antibiotics, namely penicillin in the UK.

But doctors are under increasing pressure to cut down on the amount of antibiotics they prescribe as a result of the rise of superbugs – bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics.

Superbugs are predicted to kill 10 million people a year by 2050, with experts saying this “silent pandemic” is humanity’s gravest threat.

The UK health authorities have previously trialled paying healthcare providers to cut down on their antibiotic prescription levels and set a target of slashing prescription by 15 per cent.

The British Medical Association pushed back against plans to let pharmacists prescribe antibiotics as “antibiotics are a precious resource and should be prescribed only when absolutely necessary”.

But while antibiotics are overprescribed by around 40 per cent, and often given for colds caused by viruses which are impervious to the drugs, there are no tests available to GPs to tell whether a sick child has a bacterial or a viral infection.

As a result, doctors are tasked with cutting down on giving out antibiotics without really knowing which patients need them and which ones do not.

‘Slightly mad’ that doctors have to use guesswork

“The price of an antibiotic currently is always cheaper than the price of a diagnostic,” says Jim O’Neil, the economist behind the seminal 2016 review of antimicrobial resistance commissioned by then prime minister David Cameron.

“It seems to me slightly mad, as brilliant as doctors are, that they guess whether somebody wants an antibiotic in the first place, and then what kind of antibiotic,” Lord O’Neill said.

But now, while progress has been made in reducing antibiotic prescriptions, a bacterial infection which is easily treatable has killed six children who may have survived if given antibiotics earlier.

Strep A is a bacteria sometimes found in the throat or on the skin and caught through close contact and from coughing and sneezing and normally leads to Strep throat.

In severe cases it can lead to iGAS if it gets into the bloodstream via cracks in the skin or if a child has a weakened immune system. iGAS can lead to sepsis or shock and, in extremely rare cases, meningitis, and can rapidly kill a patient.

Data from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) shows that in pre-pandemic times for children aged between one and four years old there were 0.5 cases of iGAS per 100,000. However, the current figure is 2.3 per 100,000.

For children aged between five and nine years old it has more than tripled, up from 0.3 per 100,000 to 1.1 per 100,000.

Fans continued to scratch their head as the Louisiana native returned to the platform to post a topless selfie.

She lifted up her bust with her hands, but covered her nipples with a set of flower emojis, as she relaxed on the sand at a tropical destination.

Britney has publicly feuded with Jamie Lynn since speaking out about her alleged treatment while under her nearly 14-year conservatorship. This contention resulted in Britney not inviting her ‘baby sister’ to her wedding to actor Sam Asghari, 28, in June.

Georgia shatters single-day early voting record again

Published

on

Georgia topped its record for one-day early voting again on Friday, with more than 350,000 voters casting their vote in the runoff election between Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) and Republican Herschel Walker.

Gabriel Sterling, one of the state’s top election officials in his capacity as chief operating officer of the Georgia secretary of state’s office, announced on Twitter that 350,574 people had voted Friday as of 8 p.m.

“That’s just an amazing number. Great job by the counties’ elections officials and voters,” he tweeted.

The total on Friday broke the previous record for the state that was set on Monday, when more than a quarter of a million early voters cast their ballots. Before that, the record was about 233,000 on the last day of early voting in the 2018 midterm elections.

Warnock led Walker by about 1 percentage point in the first round of the Senate race last month, but he was unable to win the majority he needed to avoid a runoff. A Libertarian candidate won about 2 percent of the vote.

Democrats have already won continued control of the Senate but will try to increase their narrow majority to 51 seats.

Early voting for the runoff started last weekend, and a spokesperson for the Georgia secretary of state’s office told The Hill earlier this week that more people voted on Sunday than on any Sunday in the 2021 Senate runoff and the 2018, 2020 and 2022 general elections.

Polls conducted since the midterms have shown Warnock with a slight lead over Walker. The incumbent senator led his Republican opponent by 4 points in a CNN poll released Friday.
