Wizards of the Coast, a division of Hasbro Inc. best known for its Dungeons & Dragons tabletop games, has canceled at least five video game projects as it lowers its industry aspirations, according to a new report by Bloomberg.
Dungeons and Dragons, a fantasy tabletop game, is produced by Wizards of the Coast. Tactical Studies Rules, Inc. released the first edition of it in 1974. (TSR).
Although Wizards of the Coast reports that less than 15 employees have been affected by the adjustments, it is unclear which games have been canceled.
The company told IGN in a statement:
“We remain committed to using digital games as a cornerstone of our strategy for bringing our games to players around the world. We have made some changes to our long-term portfolio to focus on games which are strategically aligned with developing our existing brands and those which show promise in expanding or engaging our audience in new ways.”
